76ers trading Jahlil Okafor to the Nets

Looks like Jahlil Okafor is getting his wish.

The Philadelphia 76ers are nearing agreement on a deal to send the unhappy center to the Nets, ESPN is reporting.

Brooklyn would also get guard Nik Stauskas and a 2019 second-round pick, per ESPN, while forward Trevor Booker would head to Philly.

Okafor, the third overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, isn’t part of the Sixers future and his reps asked for either a trade or a buyout.

“I would like for them to just send me somewhere where I can get an opportunity,” Okafor told ESPN last month.

The improving Sixers (13-10) had declined their team option for next season on Okafor.

Okafor, who spent one year at Duke before jumping to the NBA, was an All-Rookie selection after leading the 10-win Sixers in scoring with 17.5 points per game. Now that the Sixers are finally competitive again, Okafor has barely been able to find the court this season.
