CONOR McGregor has responded to claims by Mike Tyson that he’s going to “get killed” by Floyd Mayweather when they meet in the super fight next month.
Mayweather puts his 49-0 record on the line when he takes on McGregor, who has never had a professional boxing bout in his life, in Las Vegas on August 26.
“McGregor is going to get killed boxing,” Tyson said earlier this week.
“Boxing? I got mad because I thought they were going to use MMA rules against boxing because that’s what it’s all about: Can the boxer beat the MMA guy?”
“McConor (sic) put his dumbass in a position where he’s gonna get knocked out because this guy’s been doing this all his life since he was a baby.
“McConor (sic) can’t kick and grab and stuff, so he won’t stand much of a chance.”
But McGregor has hit back on Twitter at Iron Mike’s assertions.
McGregor wasn’t done there on the social media outlet, posting again to say: “You are all going to eat your words for the rest of your days, while I eat lobster for the rest of mine.”
Tyson did concede that McGregor’s larger than life persona is something Mayweather has never come up against before in his career and that he will be a test
“Conor is a character. Floyd has never met a character like this,” Tyson said.
Tyson was also amused when McGregor called Mayweather “boy” during their four-stop world media tour.
“I want to say: ‘Hey, it’s disrespectful’, but it’s so funny I can’t,” Tyson said.
